Festivals

During the year, our area host a number of enjoyable festivals that draw people by the thousands.  They come for the delicious Florida food, unique crafts and festive music. They also come for the intriguing performances from local and national artists.  Whether you're young or old,  there's plenty of exciting festival offerings for everyone.

Bradentod Seafood fest: The De Soto Heritage Festival SeaFood Fest, organized for more than two decades by the Hernando Desoto Historical Society,  is widely recognized as one of Florida’s most outstanding riverfront / downtown events and is attended by thousands each year.

The three-day family event features some of the best seafood around along with other tasty offerings from area restaurants and food vendors. A great lineup of continuous entertainment on three stages includes the best the local music scene has to offer as well as nationally known recording artists. Area artisans and craft vendors as well as other activities for the whole family round the offerings at the Seafood Fest.

Ringling International Arts:  This brand new festival, held at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and Florida State University campus kicked off in October 2009, attracting Florida residents near and far, plus guests from across the nation.

Set to be held every two years, the five-day arts festival features top international artists in music, theater and dance performing alongside local artists.  The festival was originally John Ringling's dream, but the idea never got off the ground after the Great Depression.  It was only through the efforts of Bradenton resident and former state Senator John McKay and the prolific Russian dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov, that Ringling's dream has finally come to life.

Cortez Commercial Fishing:  Set along the historic fishing village of Cortez, this two day festival draws crowds out for smoked mullet, grouper and other delicacies caught by the fisherman of this quaint community.  Plenty of fish inspired art can be found among the draft booths, too.  The festival, which is held every February, highlights the area's history.

Desoto Heritage Festival:   Those who have lived in Manatee County long enough often plan their time around this annual festival, which takes place during March and April.  Events include the Children's Parade and Party ion the Park, Easter Egg Hunt, the Easter Sunrise Service, the Bottle Boat Regatta, the Queen's Court and the Desoto Ball.  Two of the most popular festival activities are the Grand Parade, filled with conquistador, ships and plenty of beads and the Seafood Festival, which features dozens of seafood vendors and quality entertainment in downtown Bradenton.

Sarasota Film Festival:  If you enjoy celebrity sightings, trendy parties and cutting-edge films, the Sarasota Film Festival is a must-attend event.  The 2011 fest, set for April 8-17, marks the 12th year of this festival.  Past celebrity guests have included Jon Voight, Chevy Chase, Alan Alda, Brooke Shields, Charlize Theron and many more.  But believe it or not, for many attendees, the festival is more about the films than the celebrities.

Hunsader Farms Pumpkin:  Fans of old-fashioned country festivals should plan to attend this popular October festival at Hunsader Farms.  It features two weekends of country cooking, country music and other country fare.  The family-friendly festival also boasts unique acts, such as magic shows, dogs on three-wheelers and the BMX Stunt Show. Open mid Sept thru mid June.

Cine-World Film Festival:  This festival, held in November, highlights the best in world cinema.  It has been going strong for 20 years thanks to the efforts of the Sarasota Film Society.

Testimonials

My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Linda Johnston who is with the office at CENTURY 21 All Aces Realty. We had been trying to sell our house in Palmetto for approximately 2 years. Prior to being introduced to Linda, we had used two other real estate agents who were quite ineffective in getting people to look at the house. As soon as we spoke to Linda, we were impresses with her enthusiasm and determination. She immediately gave us ideas on how to list the house to attract prospective buyers. When one idea didn't work, she was innovative and determined to come up with new ideas. Her personality was refreshing and she was always professional. We felt as though we were her only client, although we knew she had others. It was a pleasure working with her and we would recommend her to any seller or buyer. Craig & Felicia Himes
My experience with CENTURY 21 All Aces Realty was remarkable, but my experience with my Agent, Matthew Rotondo was even better. Matt’s willingness to work with my wife and I was truly amazing. Matt took a true interest in our needs and wants as a young couple. Knowing we did not have the money to buy a home that needed lots of work, Matt made sure to find us a home that was move in ready. When it came time to close on our dream home, the house needed a new roof. Matt came through again, he was able to get us our dream home at price we could afford with a new roof. Matt is just a genuine good guy, I don’t know many agents that would actually come over and help you move and work in the yard. Thanks again Matt for helping my family get the house of their dreams.
